Skincare is one of the most important tools women incorporate into their beauty regime to fight aging and most importantly to prevent damage from sun exposure. This simple night time routine transformed my skin; if you follow along it will transform yours too!
STEP 1. REMOVE MAKEUP
At the end of the day I begin by removing my makeup with Dermalogica's "Precleanse." It starts as a light oil that when applied to the face turns into a milky lotion that collects and removes all of the days impurities with a pea sized amount. It washes away quickly and gently and leaves no oily residue.
STEP 2. CLEANSE
My favourite face wash I have come across to date is the "Special Cleansing Gel." Like the Precleanse, you do not have to use much product at all which allows the bottle to last a minimum of 5 months! It leaves your skin feeling instantly deep-cleaned, hydrated and refreshed. What I love so much about this cleanser is it doesn't leave your skin feel dry and dehydrated or itchy.
STEP 3. DON'T SKIP THIS STEP
I apply the "Biolumin-c Serum" to my entire face and neck. Again, a little goes a long way! (Inside the bottle is a drop applicator to ensure you're using the right amount of product.) Vitamin C is a known anti-oxidant which works to protect skin especially from environmental elements we are exposed to throughout our day. Vitamin C stimulates melanin production (Hense, why it's often referred to as the sunshine vitamin!) It not only improves your skins natural glow but also evens out skin tone.
STEP 4. MOISTURIZE
In order to achieve deep daily hydration I use Dermalogica's "Skin Smoothing Cream." Never in my life have I found another product that leaves my skin hydrated and still looking fresh the next morning that wasn't so heavy it caused breakouts. This cream is the perfect balance of intense moisture without feeling heavy or greasy on my skin- even immediately after it's applied.
STEP 5. TARGET TROUBLE AREAS
The last step in my nightly routine is a game-changer. Dermalogica's "Age Reversal Eye Complex" uses Retinol to erase the signs of aging around the eyes. It gently tightens and firms the fragile skin around the eye which in turn, improves skin's elasticity and also minimizes the look of dark circles and fine lines.
STEP 6. EXFOLIATE
Once weekly, I include Dermalogica's "Daily Superfoliant" in my skincare routine. Exfoliation is absolutely necessary but frequency depends on your skin type. The best way to know if you're overdoing it? Your skin could feel dehydrated and irritated or even become blotchy/red. That being said- I have NEVER experienced this with any Dermalogica exfoliant. I do personally find once a week to be the perfect amount for my skin type. It leaves my skin feeling completely free of any impurities or buildup and allows for a fresh canvas to apply my moisturizer after showering!
* TRY THIS!
I have to say my most beloved skincare product overall is Dermilogica's "Skinperfect Primer" with SPF 30. We all know how crucial including a product with spf is in our routine, so why not keep it this simple to incorporate? This primer lasts all day long but is light-as-air to the touch and leaves my skin feeling silky enough to wear even on its own! I will never, not carry Skinperfect in my make-up bag!
