I'm so excited to share Isla's rainbow themed bedroom with you all! I basically let her take the lead on this one and she did such a wonderful job. We chose to use colors in soft muted shades and the rainbow wall mural from Anewall sets the tone. I'm fairly certain this room would be any little girl's dream come true!
The majority of the bedding we chose for Isla's bed is from Kip and Co. I really wanted to work with the soft tones of her rainbow wall, while adding in touches of violet...her favorite color! Their quality is incredible and they have a really fun selection for children. I loved the Little Paradisco Tropical line because it feels slightly vintage, but so fun at the same time! We added a fringe blanket from Jac and Jae Designs and an adorable rainbow pillow. We added a weighted blanket from Silk and Snow in a chunky knit. I'm obsessed with the texture it adds!
It's no secret I love supporting companies who give back. One of our favourites is Cuddle and Kind and they generously donate one meal to a child in need for every handmade doll purchased. Their dolls are so precious and very unique! The characters have names, birthdays and little personality descriptions! If you have a baby or little one in your life, this is a company you will want to check out.
We also love the custom dolls we had made through Dainty Cheeks. Isla has a sweet unicorn I had custom made for her first birthday and a doll I gave to her a year later. We added some special touches like her initial and a verse to each of them and chose our own colors and fabrics. If you are looking to create a custom piece, this is your shop!
Books are sort of an obsession of mine. As a former teacher I know how important reading is, but beyond the value of literacy, I just love books! Every night we choose a couple stories and read to Isla before bed. Now where to store all of these books?? We went to IKEA and bought some picture frame ledges to use as book shelves. I love how minimal they are and they were so inexpensive. Some of our favorite stories to read are pictured below!
Every night Isla asks to have her Doterra night light on. This little light projects stars and moons onto the ceiling in various colors and it diffuses our favorite oils as she drifts off to sleep. I love using a calming blend before bed or some lavender because it really helps to relax Isla at the end of the day. You can order through my incredible friend Ardelle HERE. She is a holistic nutritionist over at Aromas and Avocados and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to oils. Basically this girl rocks!
