Prepare to fall in love with this entire family.
The sweetest couple is expecting their first...and second baby this December! They are having twins. And what could be cuter than their last name being Gerber. Yep...they are having Gerber Babies!
We first met this couple when Kaitlyn was creating her jewelry line, Mountainstone Jewelry. She quickly became a fav local maker and human, and not long ago, her and Geoff modelled at a styled wedding photoshoot we participated in as well. Their love for each other beams across their faces, and it is so exciting that they are bringing little loves into this world.
Designing a baby shower is such a treat, especially for such a lovely couple. Their personal style is moderately minimal, with a touch of boho inspired coziness and comfort. We knew that hosting an intimate family and friends event in their home meant keeping with their personal style, and when I sent the mood board for approval...I think she squealed in delight!
Kaitlyn and I planned the shower together, with her handling the in house details of her family preparing the incredible food (this was the most incredible looking family food spread ever!!!); details like sweet party favours full of goodies from local makers for each guest; and of course using her home as our venue.
We chose a boho dream design. Using wicker items, velvet pillows in a soft, yet colourful palette from Orange Trunk Vintage Rentals was a sure way to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for guests. The decor was beautifully enhanced with the florals from Floral + Field. Dried arrangements, and white roses (Kaitlyn’s favourite) adorned the wicker chair, along with the most gorgeous chocolate coloured orchids throughout the floral pieces.
Not only was the food table a major part of this event, but the cake from Lemonberry Pastries, in all its boho beauty, was a focal point with hand painted icing, and more chocolate coloured orchids topping it. Guests were greeted by a lovely welcome sign that matched the drink and food menu boards hand lettered by Mountain Grove Studios. Adding natural wood, mauve, peach + amber, and white details, the design was brought to life with our glowing mama-to-be who wore a beautiful dress by Pink Blush Maternity, and had makeup done with Avenue Beauty.
We also surprised Kaitlyn with a custom wood keepsake gift box for their Gerber Babies from Box Smith modern gifts; and her favourite sugar cookies by Sugar Baker Cookie Co. with such sweet boho baby details. The sweet details that Kaitlyn created for the day was the custom garland using images from their ultrasounds, and baby sleepers from Little Warriors and socks + hats from Baby Gap.
Kaitlyn found a cute boho invitation from Pixel Perfection on Etsy and created a baby shower evite for her friends and family. Table and food details were gathered by Kaitlyn’s family, with donuts from Tollers Bistro, tarts made by her mom with berries from Sasksatoon berry Farm.
There were sweet napkins in soft pink, white + blue from Purr Petite, as they have not found out the sex of the babies; swaddles by Blossom + Pear and baby rattles by Little Cheeks added to the decor in natural colours and wood details; and the drink bar was complemented by the beverage styling of Kirsten; and the thoughtful goodie bags gifted to the guests were filled with items from: scrunchie by Bean + Bear co., bath bomb from Pranic Forest; candies from Bulk Barn; and a jar of honey from Wynnyk Family Farm, and mom, Karen Wynnyk.
We hope you enjoy the images captured by Grey Lily Photography of this lovely boho dreams baby shower as much as we enjoyed creating this design.
