Father's Day is this weekend and it's time to celebrate all of the amazing Dads out there! When I was growing up, I saw my own Dad as invincible. He was, and still is, a superhero in my eyes. Dads are there to guide you and protect you when you are in trouble. They build up your confidence and make you feel like you can take on the world. Having a little girl means painted toes, dressing up as a princess and listening to endless stories. Only a real superhero would have this kind of patience!
Now that I'm a parent and I have a daughter of my own, I know she sees my husband as a superhero Dad. I have partnered with Mark's Canada to share an incredible contest that recognizes and celebrates the amazing Dads out there. To enter, have your child draw their Dad as the amazing Superhero he is. I had my own daughter draw a photo with her Daddy as a superhero and it is the cutest thing! She loved the bonding time she got to share with him and she was so proud to show off her creation. The way Isla looks at her Dad is the most special thing. I can tell he is everything to her and he will always love and protect her.
This Father's Day try to spend some quality time with your family and let the Dads in your life know they are appreciated and loved. Their superhero actions are seen on a day to day basis, even though they may not wear a real cape to work.
